FIJI PUBLIC TRUSTEE CORPORATION LIMITED                      March 2007 – October 2007

 

In March 2007, the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation Limited commissioned Software Factory Limited to design, develop and deploy the TrustSoft for the management of the Estates that are under its trusteeship.  TrustSoft was designed and built specifically for corporations that manage trust estates for the living and the deceased.

The design, development, testing and deployment took 10 months to complete.

The major objective of the TrustSoft application is to accurately record information that will assist the Trustee Corporation to secure the assets of the Estates, and the accurate distribution of the estates in accordance with the Will of the Deceased, Instruction by a Living Person, or of a Judgment of the Court of Law.  TrustSoft also facilitates the distribution of dividend income from the trust moneys invested by the Trustee Corporation.  TrustSoft manages two different sets of Financial Accounts.  One is for the Trustee Corporation, and the other is for the Trust Estates.  The system employs a smart decision engine to provide the logic that determines which financial account a particular transaction should be posted to.  All income and fees charged are posted accurately to the corresponding accounts in the subsidiary ledger and the general ledger.

At the end of the day, the GL Interface tables generated by TrustSoft will be uploaded into the two Accounting Systems (Beneficiaries Trust, and the Trustee Corporation).  The Accounting system will then produce two sets of Profit & Loss Accounts and two sets of Balance Sheets.
