FIJI SCHOOL OF MEDICINE                                                           December 2006 – December 2007

 

The Fiji School of Medicine in 2006 commissioned Software Factory to design, develop and implement a university student administration system that will cater for all of its students’ records.  The new StudentSoftÔ software offers the facility to cater for student face-to-face enrolment, fees invoicing, fees payments, direct debit of fines, course catalogue, academic course assessment and grading, and on-line enrolment.  For every invoices and fees received the system automatically produces financial transactions that are posted directly into the Sun Accounting System.  FSM has a total of 3000 medical students and a staff complement of about 250.  Almost one third of the students are from other South Pacific island countries.  The introduction of On-line enrolment has enabled continuing students from the region and outside of Suva to enrol on-line without the need of having to move into Campus two weeks before the start of the semester.

 

There are three contact persons at FSM who were instrumental in the implementation of the StudentSoft and StudentSoft On-line, and these are Dr. Apenisa Ratu (Registrar FSM), Mrs. Leba Tikoduadua (Director Corporate Services), and Mr. Onisimo Pasikali (Manager ICT).
