FIJIAN TEACHERS ASSOCIATION                                                March 2006 – September 2006

 

In September 2006 the Credit Finance System was successfully implemented at the Fijian Teachers Association integrating all three of its entities, namely; FTA Main, FTA Housing, and FTA Welfare Society.  FTA Main is the parent organisation that accepts membership of Fijian Teachers.  FTA Housing is a mutual society for FTA members, a separate legal entity that offers members the ability to take housing loans.  Their monthly contribution is taken as shares into the FTA Housing and at the end of the year the members are credited dividends that are calculated on the basis of their shares into the entity.  FTA Welfare Society is another separate legal entity that offers FTA members benefits in terms of medical consultation, local hospitalisation, overseas medical evacuation, education, death benefits, retirement benefits, and teacher transfer costs.  Each of these entities carry their own Financials.  The Credit Finance System keeps track of all the subsidiary ledgers for these entities, and at the end of the day it produces three GL interface files that are uploaded separately into their own Accounting Systems.

 

The contact person is Mr. Maika Namudu (General Secretary of the FTA), and he was instrumental in the successful implementation of the Credit Finance System.
